The Basic Needs Center provides housing services and resources to help alleviate housing insecurity in the UC Berkeley student community. Our service model includes prevention services to support students from losing their housing and emergency services to support students who are unhoused or at imminent risk of losing their housing.

The Student Emergency Fund will assist students with a variety of expenses spanning everything from food, housing and utilities to transportation, clothing and medical expenses. The fund will continue to be a resource for students in need beyond the lifetime of the pandemic.

In response to the growing housing crisis, the AMS has assembled a toolkit for UBC students and community members who may be struggling to find stable and secure housing this year. This includes emergency housing resources in the Lower Mainland and other resources that can be useful in finding rental housing.
