NSCC Foundation Metro Emergency Housing

"The Metro Emergency Housing Program exists to help find a safe environment for students facing urgent and unsafe housing situations to help provide them with the safety and support they need while continuing their studies. This program brings together a suite of options for NSCC student advisors and counsellors to access when triaging students in need of emergency housing."

Rental vacancy rates in Halifax are among the lowest in the country, having dropped to 1% in 2022. All the while, average rental prices have been increasing, the cost of education continues to rise, and the amount of housing Dalhousie is able to provide its students has decreased significantly. Students are speaking up, and we hear you: we need accessible, safe, and affordable housing now! As a short-term measure, we have compiled a list of resources to support students in finding housing, which can be found below.
